About the project

Shawa Architecture worked on the design for the National Research And Rescue Center for a competition conducted by the government of Abu Dhabi. The building location is within the Al Bateen Executive Airport, the only private aviation business in the Middle East and North Africa and is strategically located in the heart of the UAE capital. The design has no sharp lines, as it is inspired by the smooth lines of the airplane shape.

Concept

Design for this project is inspired by the position an airplane is in at the moment of take-off. The louvre lines used in the elevation represent the speed motion, and are also meant to reduce the heat and sunlight coming to the building. Overall, the has no sharp lines, as it is inspired by the smooth lines of the airplane shape.
