PRIVATE VILLA | NADD AL SHEBA 1
About the project
Shawa Architecture was commissioned to redesign and execute the landscape of a private villa in Dubai Hills, replacing an outdated outdoor setting that no longer met the client’s expectations. The new design was developed in line with the client’s preference for a modern minimalist style, emphasizing clean lines, open spaces, and a strong visual contrast between white finishes and vibrant tropical greenery.
The project involved a complete upgrade of the existing landscape, including the replacement and careful selection of plants and trees by our professional team to ensure both aesthetic value and long-term sustainability. One of the distinctive features introduced was the use of artificial grass integrated between porcelain slab tiles, enhancing the sense of greenery while maintaining low maintenance requirements.
A custom-designed pergola seating area was also added, fully equipped with built-in air conditioning to provide comfort throughout the year. Additionally, an existing circular seating area near the pool was transformed into a fully functional BBQ station, tailored to the client’s lifestyle and entertainment needs.
The project presented unique challenges, particularly in working around the existing MEP systems. Our team carefully adapted the design to align with these constraints while maintaining the integrity and vision of the concept. The result is a refined, functional, and visually striking outdoor space that elevates the overall living experience of the villa.
Concept
The landscape design for this private villa in Dubai Hills is rooted in a modern minimalist vision, where simplicity meets elegance through a refined balance of materials and greenery. The concept focuses on creating a clean, breathable outdoor environment defined by the contrast between crisp white hardscape elements and lush green tropical planting. This harmony enhances both the visual identity and the overall user experience, transforming the outdoor space into a serene and functional extension of the villa.
A key element of the concept is year-round usability. The integration of a contemporary pergola with built-in air conditioning allows the outdoor seating area to remain comfortable even during the intense summer months or unpredictable weather conditions. The design prioritizes both aesthetics and practicality, ensuring that every space serves a purpose while maintaining a cohesive, modern character.
