About the project
This modern residential twin-tower development in Ethiopia is a distinctive architectural project by SHAWA Architecture, combining contemporary design with the richness of local African cultural heritage. The project features two elegant residential towers rising above a shared podium, creating a unified architectural composition that reflects both modern urban living and Ethiopia’s unique cultural identity. Through its innovative façade design, refined proportions, and integration of traditional decorative patterns, the development introduces a sophisticated approach to luxury residential architecture in Ethiopia.
Concept
The architectural design concept is inspired by traditional Ethiopian and African textile patterns, translating their intricate geometric compositions into distinctive façade elements that celebrate local culture through modern architecture. SHAWA Architecture incorporated large-scale decorative panels across the two residential towers, complemented by expansive glass façades, vertical architectural lines, and subtle lighting that highlights the richness of the patterns while maintaining a contemporary aesthetic. The shared podium connects both towers through a unified architectural base, while landscaped rooftop terraces and elegant façade detailing create a harmonious balance between cultural identity, modern luxury, and timeless residential design.
